All translated works will be reviewed by native language staff before release.
Please understand that it is unlikely that translations that are not of native or near-native level will pass the review process.
▼What You Need to Translate
Generally speaking, all files uploaded to the translation system need to translated, including variations and bonus/extra files.
*For manga, in the case of overlapping content (for example, JPEG/PNG versions), there is no need to translate both.
*For audio, where there are multiple file extension versions (for example MP3/WAV versions), please use the translation system's copy function to copy the translation to each version.
▼The following cases are grounds for failing review:
- Translation that is not native, or near-native level
- Use of machine translations (such as Google, or DeepL)
- Copying of text from an existing translation
- Missing translations (For example, untranslated speech bubbles or audio)
- Translated manga featuring speech bubbles/boxes with insufficient retouching (Japanese text still visible)
- Translated manga featuring unnecessary/excessive retouching
- Translated audio where the subtitles are poorly timed
Examples of cases where translations are unnecessary:
- Logos, etc. with design elements that cannot be changed. (Manga)
- Sound effect text (Manga)
- Currently, bonus manga included with audio works falls outside the scope of Translators Unite and do not need to be translated
If you fail the review process, you can resubmit after editing your translation.
For further details about the review process, please see the [ Translators Unite Guide ] .
