While DLsite implements various measures to prevent unauthorized access and use of its services, we also recommend that customers take the following steps to ensure a safe experience when using the site.
■Setting a strong password
It's important to set a password that third parties will be unable to guess.
We recommend using a password at least 8 characters long that uses a mix of upper and lower case lettera as well as numbers and symbols.
Features of a strong password
- Sufficiently long (at least 8 characters)
- Mixes letters, numbers and symbols
- Mixes upper and lower case letters
- Avoids character strings that follow set rules, as well as ordinary words
*Eg. 12345678, password, qwertyui (keyboard key order) - Avoids names, phone numbers, dates of birth etc. that others may be able to guess
Password settings can be found via [ Change Password ].
■Strict management of login IDs/passwords
Please do not use the same IDs and passwords for multiple online services.
It is safer to use different passwords for each online service you use.
■Regular checking of login history
Every time you log in to DLsite with your ID and password, the time you logged in, the device used (PC/smartphone) and your IP address will appear on the [ Login History page ] .
Please see [ How to check your login history ] for more information.
■Using the login notification function
Login notifications are email messages notifying you when there has been a login on your DLsite account. Please see [ here ] for how to set up login notifications.
*If you happen to get a login notification or see a login in your history that you can't account for, it is possible that a third party has logged in with your ID and password. If you think someone else may have logged in to your account, please [ change your password ] as soon as possible.
*If you become aware that someone else has used your credit card without authorization, please contact your credit card company as soon as possible. Please see also [ How to delete registered credit card information ].
■Improving device security
There is an increasing number of viruses and phishing websites that attempt to steal data from users' PCs or mobile devices. Please consider employing measures such as security software to help protect your devices.
