DLsite employs a system for the copy protection of works, which Circles can choose to opt in for.
The system can be used to prevent illegal online file sharing, or resale through online auctions, but it is not guaranteed to prevent all unauthorized activity. It merely makes it so that files cannot be copied.
Not all file formats are supported by the system, and there are limitations regarding the viewing/accessing of protected works.
Please consider whether copy protection is suitable for you after reading the details below.
■ Applying Copy Protection
DLsite will take care of all the work involved in copy protection.
All you have to do as a circle is to make the "Copy-protected" declaration during work registration.
■ What copy protection does
When a user views a protected product, their login ID and password will be requested.
They can view the product only when their purchase on DLsite is confirmed through authentication.
For games, users are required to enter a license key displayed on the product's download page to authenticate their product. Only users who have purchased the product are able to view it.
The product is viewable only on the PC or the smartphone on which they authenticated the purchase.
Except in the case of games, users will need to install special software/app according to the work type to browse the products.

■ If software doesn't work due to copy protection
DLsite will take responsibility and offer support.

■ Caution
- Please note that if a work is sold elsewhere without copy protection, using it here is meaningless.
- For works with copy protection enabled, checking or downloading of sales data from inside the Circle Management page is not available.
- You cannot change a work that has been sold without copy protection to having copy protection later.
- The use of free anti-virus software such as avast!, AVG, ANTIVIR and COMODO may prevent you from viewing the product normally.
- Image asset works, due to the nature of the format, will be sold without copy protection.
